This composition is about pure form from the environment. It is comprised from three ancient materials. wood, stone, and metal.
Trees are amongst the oldest living things on the earth. They breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out the oxygen that we need to survive. The growth rings of trees provide much information about earth’s history.
Volcanic rock is the most common rock in the Earth's crust. This rock, which I collected in the 1980s, originated in the San Quintín Volcanic Field, formed during the ice age, 126,000-90,000 years ago on the coast of Baja California. Rocks carry vast amounts of information about the forming of the earth.
Recent archaeological discoveries along a construction site in California claim ancient humans inhabited the California coastline approximately 130,000 years ago near to the time when this rock was formed. Traditional science places first humans in California much later, in the Bronze Age.
